mcor problem
my,2009 american custom golf cart has an mcor issue, have tried 4 different techs and they came up empty.i have pictures and wireing diagram that i just received can anybody with electrical skills help, or know somebody who has done this before
|
OK, I will bite, what is an MCOR problem, before I make an offer to help (retired professional electrical engineer) I want to know what type of problem you are having with your cart. Also, can the cart currently be driven or is it dead?
|
Just out of curiosity I did a Google search, so now as i understand it this is the unit that tells the controller the position of the accelerator pedal. I ran into this on another cart a few years ago. I do have the equipment to test the actual sensor (if it is similar) and the other thing to look for is a loose or corroded connection to this device.

mcor
thank, you so much for answering, yes the cart can be driven the but it hesitates while in motion, the mcor controls the pressure you put on the gas pedal

Im assuming you dont have A club car but one of the off beat brands from years ago. I think that needs to be clarified first. Most golf car mechanics will not know much about these brands. Lets find out what you really have first and go from there. |

Amazon
Available from Amazon Amazon.com

The 1st place I'd start looking is at the factory dealership in California. I've heard that they have a reputation for not being very responsive and don't stock repair part for their older carts.
Good luck. American Custom Golf Cars Inc. 1525 E 6th St. Building 1 Corona, California, 92879 USA Tel. (909) 597-2885 E-mail: info@californiaroadster.com |
The last thing you would want is an amazon golf car part.

TO ALL, we found the problem, it turns out on this particular cart, the throttle position sensor is located at a different location from the power sensor switch. The replacement units have a microswitch (power) and the position sensor (0 to 5000 ohm variable resistor) mounted on the same unit. Neither of the replacement units will fit this cart. Upon further inspection I found the separately mounted microswitch was loose, and it would make a break as the cart was driven. Tightening the mounting screws fixed the problem.
