Very excited for the move!

Last year, my parents visited and had a fantastic time exploring the town squares, restaurants, and all the amenities.

Our house is currently pending sale, and we'll be moving there in a couple of months.

Over the past year, I've watched countless videos and am incredibly excited. The coordination, sense of community, and safety make me eager to move. I can't think of anywhere that rivals The Villages in these aspects.

I'm also looking forward to meeting new people and hearing their stories. This seems like the perfect place for that!

As someone in their mid-twenties, I'm grateful for the opportunity to move there. Is there any information I should know about living in The Villages at my age?

Thank you!

Good luck, perhaps?

I can't imagine being in my 20s and living in TV. To each their own but, that would have been a nightmare for me at that age. As you can tell, I am a fan of forthrightness. Patronization is the pits.

I think it's a fantastic opportunity for a reset and to be a bit more active with cycling and other activities.

I'm too sedentary in dreary Ohio, I can't think of any real disadvantages. Nor can I think of any specific rules or culture related obstacles that would make it not enjoyable to live there.

My apologies if I came off any particular way.

I just tried to make the post as respectful as possible. Maybe that was a bad idea hah.

No, no....nothing wrong at all with your comment and question. I wish you the best. I just wonder how you'll make friends, is all.

TV certainly is a whole lot prettier and nicer than Ohio over the 5 months or so of winter up there. A definite upgrade.

I understand your concern, that makes sense! I have a couple friends who are in their 50s and 60s. I’m super extroverted and I have a blast getting to know people and hearing their stories, I see TV being a great catalyst for that.

I’ll more than likely end up getting a job with the younger crowd and using online dating to get a girlfriend hah. I’m super excited for the cycling and scenery down there.

Welcome! In my Villages there are at least 2 20-something’s living here with their parents. They love it as far as I can tell. Both work for TV in some capacity. Remember, lots of people outside of the villages go to the squares and Middleton is really close. Also the surrounding towns and lots employees here are younger.

Kind of like your being friends with and associating with a 6 year old. You're likely to find acceptance difficult in the community.

In your 20’s and moving to TV, no way? Enjoy Middleton.

Just remember, neighbor hood pools will be off limits. Must be over 30. So you will only be allowed to use family pools. Do not think there is age restriction on joining clubs? Or using recreation centers. You will be living with your parents so you probably will have opportunities to explore different areas. Leesburg, Ocala, Tampa for social activities.Good luck and be safe.

WHAT?!!!! That comment is shocking, and hopefully only from someone in the minority. As long as you don't create disturbances (this is a retirement community), I would hope people would welcome you. I personally would love to have you on the pickleball courts (if you pick up the sport) to bring up the competition level!

be aware of the salaries here. Nowhere near what you are getting paid now.

Sorry to disagree, but reality sucks. I met a thirty-something spouse of a Boomer who struggled with finding age-appropriate interests/people. Finally, decided to get a job. Just sayin'...

Yes, nice place if you want to live with mostly older people. Finding friends your age won’t be easy.

A lot to do and when you get here you will find your way in and outside of the Villages. If you like outdoor stuff, you can do it year round. You have all your options and a long future ahead of you. Do not waste it. The years go faster than you think they will. Enjoy.

We loved TV, but we moved to be close to 1 of our children. Miss TV’s!
