Will this classic location just outside the Villages ever change?

For the past 10 years of our living in the Villages, this classic structure just outside the Villages on the corner of Powell Road and 44A has not changed. Depending on direction of travel, it reminds us that we are leaving or entering the Villages. In some ways, I will miss it when this iconic location is replaced. :icon_wink:

see this is why so many people complain about not being able to put up a fence in the villages

What antiseptic structure is going to replace it?

I was sure over the years I had seen for sale and sold signs, but you are right, no activity.

Or in probate/family squabbles?

If I remember correctly this is going to be another housing project, I believe assisted living or senior housing, not part of TV. There is also a ton of old buildings on Warm Springs that have been sold but cannot be built on yet as water has not been provided to the business owners that bought the property.

Yes! I was watching Jeepers 1 back in Maryland, after our lifestyle visit in TV, and when the movie credits rolled by it said, "The producers wish to thank Gary Morse" and "The producers wish to thank Jennifer Parr". I recognized the names but I was never able to find out what parts were filmed in TV (there is extensive info on the filming locations in Ocala and Dunnellon).
Was anyone around when they were filming here?

Looks like it'd be an incredible restoration opportunity. If I won powerball I could maybe have it turned into a museum or "historic reproduction compound" like Sturbridge Village is but on a smaller scale. Turn the barn into the display area, have a penny candy and Central Florida gift shop in the main house, during nice weather have actors in period costume teaching how to churn butter or something like that.

It really is one of the few vestiges left of this community. Historical preservation doesn’t appear to be a top priority in this area. In the interim, I’d love to see a huge American flag drape the side of this structure. Could be a reminder of anywhere rural USA to a passing motorist

You must avoid driving on the side roads - I’ve come across many similar properties pretty close to TV. Except people are still living at them. Probably wouldn’t appreciate being looked at as “historical preservation”.
