Lanai flooding
 

Our lanai floods when we get a lot of rain in a short period of time. ( happens 2 or three times a year but twice this summer so far) We then have to dry out rugs etc. lanai has sliding glass doors so flooding appears to be our pool drains may need to be cleaned out. Any suggestions for someone to fix?

If you have a pool service company, they would be my first suggestion. The pool should not drain towards the lanai, and the pool drain should be at least a few inches lower than the lanai floor. I would also look where the drains exit to the lawn, you should be able to snake these and remove any built-up debris. I am guessing on some of this as I have no idea of how your lanai and pool are setup.
You might be able to color some water with food coloring and pour it is suspected area to see if it comes in the lanai.
On a side note when our lanai was enclosed the installer were very careful to seal the bottom rails so water would not come in.

What I’ve experienced is the end caps to the drain trough are what actually plugs up with algae and other gunk. They just have small perforations to allow the water to drain while keeping the critters out. Ours are held on with 1/4” screws and silicone. Remove the screws. Carefully cut away the silicone then clean. If the trough is filling up with sediment you can run a hose in from the end cap.
