Golf Carts Do Have OEM Head Lights-Why?
 

We left the North to go to the South Tuesday afternoon around 3 PM and it was barely raining at our location but when we got to the South it was pouring and several inches of hard to see rain. We traveled along Meggison road and there were three golf carts following each other in line (just past Sawgrass) along the golf cart path. Only the lead cart was using headlights (which triggers the taillights). After I pass all three, I see in my mirror the second cart with no headlights proceed to pass the lead cart and now this cart is in the middle of the roadway with no headlights/taillights. I also see so many carts in the early morning or evening traveling with no headlights or taillights. Just a reminder to be safe and smart with the basics of driving a “vehicle”! Thanks

These are the same people that do NOT turn on CAR headlights when their wipers are on (Florida law) and do not turn on headlights 30 minutes prior to dusk. Daytime running lights are NOT headlights and do NOT turn on the rear lights.

Dam, there have been previous threads about headlights being too bright, and now people apparently aren’t using their headlights in low light. Dam, I thought peoples misuse of blinkers was the only golf cart lightning problem in the Villages. Apparently not?

i have a 2013 honda and the headlights turn on automatic when it dark (including longer tunnels) or when you turn on the windshield wipers.

Key word “Should” does not equate to shall. I agree should had lights on for the speeders in low visibility conditions.

That behavior here is not that surprising considering the other behaviors exhibited like passing other golf carts, bikes, pedestrians on blind curves, cutting in front of cars at merging points and tailgating other golf carts. They think the golf cart is a toy and like others said they drive their cars that way too.
