Senior Living Facilities near TV

Searched through the forums looking for information on senior living facilities near the Villages. Found many discussions about assisted living facilities but nothing about senior living.
Thankfully, my MIL doesn't need assisted living help, just a place to live with common rooms for visiting or playing games or someplace to interact with others. Maybe a meal a day included.
Any info appreciated.

What you are referring to is independent living. I would suggest visiting Sumter Senior Living, Watercrest, Buffalo Ridge, and Freedom Pointe. They all offer access to the Villages amenities, which others may not. They are not cheap, which may mean paying about $6,000 per month, with no health care assistance provided. If you don't need access to the Villages amenities, you may find a less expensive alternative. Good luck in your search.

If you are interested in a continuing care retirement community (CCRC), Freedom Pointe at The Villages is very highly rated, nationally and state-wide. Do some research on CCRCs. As you age and your needs change, they adapt the services to fit your needs. CCRCs are not cheap, but they can provide a lot of peace of mind.

I don't think they have access to The Villages amenities, only the public portions such as the squares, performing arts, things that don't require a Villages Resident ID card. However they do have their own amenities.

Not correct. They have an arrangement with The Villages for residents to obtain a Villages ID card which gives them access to all of the Villages amenities, including the golf courses, rec centers, swimming pools, etc., the same as all Villages residents. There are other independent living facilities that do not have this arrangement.

That contradicts their website.

Who's website? I have visited all 4 of the faciities I mentioned and they confirmed that the residents of independent living have the option to pay for and access the Villages amenities. I have visited Freedom Pointe frequently, and I know residents who have golf carts so they can play golf on the Villages courses. They have Villages ID cards. It may be that some facilities have different rules for assisted living, nursing care, and memory care, but residents of independent living do have access to the amenities. Please provide a link to the website that says otherwise. I am very interested if their rules have changed. Thanks.

American House on 466A and Powell road is senior independent living, with full apartments and LOTS of amenities. It is NOT assisted living. Check it out. that's where I plan to go when the time comes and I give up my house

Watercrest even pays you amenity fee. Also has garage under cover with one spot free.

Yes, you have all the amenities that The Villages offer at Freedom Pointe…

My mom is at American House and it is very nice. Lots of things to do.

I also recommend American House in Wildwood. My parents were there for 4 years. It was less expensive than any of the 'on Villages property' Independent Living facilities. Restaurant style open dining, w/d in the apartments, resort pool, lots of amenities and activities.
Before that, they spent one year at Steeplechase in Oxford and hated the restrictive, structured dining system.
CCRCs are another alternative but have high entrance fees in addition to the monthly cost; one would need a really good nest egg and/or be selling their home to afford that.
