Djokovic v. Nadal - end of an era!

The two men players with the most grand slam titles played against each other today at the Olympics. Djokovic has 24 titles and Nadal has 22 titles.

They played each other 60 times in their careers. With his victory today, Djokovic’s record against Nadal is 31-29.

There is talk that Nadal will retire after the Olympics. Even if he doesn’t, we will probably never see them play each other again.

When you include Federer, we have been fortunate to have seen the golden era of tennis.

The most insane rally of the Nadal / Djoker Olympic match

IMO Nadal Was lucky to last this long with that unorthodox reverse forehand stroke. He was amazing few years ago but his ground strokes become shorter in court due to his age/injuries which gave his opponents more time. The joker still has his strokes and will be force. Joker gave away at least 3 grand slams, when he hit lines woman’s with ball and at least 2 cause he refused to get Covid shot. Odds was in his favor to win through Covid restrictions. We see how he fairs with young guns with his questionable knee which might be his last year also?

They have been great to watch over the years.

True.

Proof: what percentage of players NOT named either Nadal, Djokovic or Federer have won Grand Slams since Y2K?
