Dual whole house water filtration system
 

Purchased a home with a double water filter system. Current filters are both brown so want to replace. My question is what type of filter cartridges are best for the Villages water supply.

Go for a Nova system here. Great company right here in The Villages. You can also set up with them to change out your filters on a schedule.

I second Nova - had installed last year - just had my first yearly scheduled maintenance call two months ago - I find the company reasonable, reliable and professional- I’ve been very happy with the results.

You should be able to take the filters to Lowe's or Home Depot to get replacements, if you are not sure which filter should be first, I would do an internet search. Also, your system should have a bypass, so the procedure is to open the bypass valve, close the inlet and outlet valves on the filters, and relieve the pressure on the filter housing (usually a red button on the top of the filter housing), then you can remove the filter housing and the filter cartridge.
