New Weed Barrier

Hi,

Looking for someone to replace weed barrier.
I have a CV in Lake Sumter area. I have river rock in front but weeds now growing like crazy. Spraying roundup is not working. Time to replace weed barrier. Remove rocks, install new barrier and replace rocks.
Rocks are less than 2 years old. TIA

Barrier will last only so long.

Round-up works great.

Once you kill off your current crop, the maint is very simple and not too frequent.

Get some Roundup. Something just as good Spectracide Weed Stop.
Or replace the barrier every two years……….

If you replace the weed barrier, you'll be doing it again in 2 years.

Use a combination (different applications) of Roundup (extended control NOT the regular one), Spectricide Weed stop and sprinkle Preen to prevent future weed growth.

Keeping weeds out of your lawn with twice a year weed n feed applications will improve your success rate as well.

Do some research, "weed barrier" is really not a good choice, with all of the dust, pollen, etc., this just collects on top of the weed barrier, and the weeds grow very well on this stuff. I would have been better off with simple screening to keep the stones from sinking into the sand and then using weed killer as necessary.

I got a price for removing my rocks and installing a new barrier for $5,800. around my home. That will buy lots of weed killer.

Extended ROUNDUP is good . There has been a flat mossy weed that Roundup doesn’t kill. Spectracide does.
So I alternate these two. I also have good luck with vinegar and dawn.

Wouldn't any weed barrier (compared to using nothing) help to keep the stone from sinking?

The weed barriers I have seen tend to have a very tight mesh, this traps the dust and debris and creates a nice location for weeds to grow, I believe that simple screening (aka large holes) would keep the stones from sinking, and will allow for lots of water to drain, with little to no effect on the number of weeds.
