Article states she was hit by a car, and the position of the sun may have been a factor.

It is hard to see even with sunglasses at certain times of the day.

Was on Canal street at 7:15 heading toward Sumter Landing. All 4 lanes blocked with emergency vehicles. About 100 yards East of golf cart crossing. Had to turn around.

Sun was brutal at that time shining directly into my face. Could barely see anything and no way I could have seen a pedestrian in the street.

Drove by later on Buena Vista and Community Watch vehicle had EB lanes blocked off.

I doubt the driver even saw her.. I couldn't believe the damage to the car.. hood caved in dent around bumper area , broken windshield and side mirror torn off

Was biking @ that time. The accident was on Old Mill across from Creekside Cottages entrance. Yes it was sunny, but have you seen the way motor vehicles whip around the turn from Buena Vista onto Old Mill past the MMP toward LSL? I myself have had near misses and I always come to a complete stop before crossing Old Mill. I figured sooner or later something like this would happen, just very sad it took a life. SLOW DOWN drivers! We’re mostly all retired so why the rush? If there was that much damage to the vehicle it was going WAAAAY too fast!

Most post here now days are just that but most forums always start out with good intentions but end up with everyone sharing their thoughts and opinions and less the sharing of useful information. Not everyone is retired but those that are have so much free time to share theirs. :sigh:
Sad there was a life lost in all of this and another who will deal with this for the rest of theirs.
