I dabble in fountain pen collecting. Fountain pens can range in price from a few dollars to a few thousand dollars, and like anything else they need cleaning and servicing occasionally. I just had one of my pens serviced by Pentiques, which is located in Arizona and does business by mail. Not a tremendously expensive pen: $250 about 15 years ago, but $65 plus shipping to and from Pentiques and it works better than it has in years. Turnaround on this one was about 2 weeks.

They also purchase fountain pens individually and fountain pen collections.

Good friend used to buy the inside of the pen and than by lathe make the outside. Used to have one but didnt make it to Florida

I knew a couple of hobbyists that did that back in Minnesota. I know you can buy pen blanks for just that purpose, or buy some select hardwoods and glue them up to make your own blanks. Some of the results were really beautiful.

I thought of doing it myself. Still might.
