FaceBook Suspended due to Hacker's Linked Instagram Account
 

My Facebook account was suspended on or about 7/17 due to a linked Instagram that's not mine. I get this FB error message: "Your Facebook account was suspended because your Instagram account "nguyenminhngoc7481717" doesn't follow our rules. You have 166 days left to appeal. Log into your linked Instagram account to appeal our decision."

I can't log into THAT Instagram account as they suggest because it's not mine! My REAL Instagram account name is "AirforceMVP". I've tried complaints to Instagram with no response. After extensive searches, I can't even FIND the FB "Appeal Form" or process to appeal directly to them.

I did find out that there's a REDDIT Group that has many members complaining of the same issue! Any ideas to resolve?

Careful. I get a similar message in my email--and I don't even HAVE a Facebook account!

Did you follow the advice of the redditor who suggested submitting a consumer complaint to the attorney general? They include a link to the form here: https://www.reddit.com/r/facebookdis...t=share_button

That won't provide immediate relief, but it will get you on a list that will (eventually) get attention from Facebook.

That’s funny! I had a Facebook profile up to about four years ago, because I had no idea what somebody posted about under my name. I still get messages about somebody commenting on my posts that I didn’t even make in the first place.

It seems like fb accounts get hacked regularly. A good friend and computer professional has two hacked accounts still operating.

Would it make sense to give up on that one and open a new one?

Go to the Facebook Help Center and submit a trouble ticket. You don't have to be logged in to access it. Be succinct - word it carefully. Something like:

I received notification via [e-mail? text? error message when trying to log in?] that my FB account [insert account name here] has been disabled. The reason given was a linked Instagram account [insert account name here] not following rules. However, I have no such Instagram account. MY one and only instagram account is [insert account name here].

I am asking for Meta to DElink that fake Instagram account, which is not mine, and reinstate my Facebook account. Please let me know what steps I need to take, to get this done. Thank you.
