The propane weed burner

Got me weed burner from Temu see how it does? If it works good I won’t have to buy roundup. I don’t have grass.

Temu

Walmart has propane 1 pound bottles 2 for 9. 99. I also plan on trying to refill bottles from my 20 pound tank? (Yes I have adapter hose with gauge)See how that goes. I weighed bottle they weigh 30 Oz so I know how much to fill in. If that don’t work may get refillable container or just buy bottle’s depending on how long they last?

Not for novice if you torch any plastic or rubber like popups if may damage them, it will also melt exposed black mat ground cover if hover torch it over long enough.

I've been using one for about 2 months and I'm not totally sold yet

IMHO, I refuse to buy anything from TEMU and I believe you are exposing yourself to a potentially dangerous situation. Are all of the components certified for the intended use? I have no experience refilling the smaller cylinders, and as I recall these were typically labeled "Do not refill".
I wish you good luck and I hope you have great insurance.

Good luck! Be careful! Had a neighbor in Washington state who used one and nearly burned his house down. It is certainly better than poison.
PS, keep a water hose charged and ready incase of a flare up happens.

burning the top does not kill the roots

Have to be very careful...

Bought a high quality weed burner at H.D. last month... Cannot see see all the heat flames coming out, and scorched many plants, and almost burned down my beautiful tall Cypress tree... A warning would have helped, use only in open rock areas, and lawn...Important, keep an running hose at the ready... Too late for me

i bet we can turn that thing into a real flamethrower.......:boom::boom::boom:

I got one to burn up the weed leftovers after I kill them with Roundup. Using it on live weeds doesn't really work too well, they have too much moisture. Yes, keep a hose at the ready if you are working near plants!

Concerning Temu, I had doubts as well but they had a price on a little generator to power my fridge that I just couldn't resist. I used a credit card that I only use for Amazon purchases (their card) so I could easily check for errant charges, and set up all of the alerts, don't allow foreign charges, etc. So far so good.

BTW, the little 1500 watt generator works great. Plugged in my fridge after starting it and it barely burped when the compressor kicked on. Lightweight and about the size of beachball. Little square cube. Hope I never need it, but for the price, I'm ok with that.

Ok, my first flame job. First pass I didn’t roost long enough, IMO takes till you see the leaves and stem wilt and start burning. I have rock yard and blow debris clean up before I attempt. I have no evergreen’s which contains lot of oil and stay clean of bushes.

As far as Temu mostly if not same you see on Amazon, Walmart, ect. Most all stuff made in China now thanks to greed. Why make it when can just distribute it? I use to buy USA only if I could but that ship has sailed 30 years ago. And you find product here usually says assembled in USA…

I’d like to get away from roundup, I think I killed two palms (no big lost they was over grown and getting trunk rot anyway) spraying too close. Roundup sometime takes two passed also.

See if it’s cost effective. Even though bottle can be refilled I doubt I’ll try it? Gallon roundup last me nearly year, so that’s’ 4 or maybe 3 bottles of propane?

Incorrect:

Weed torches are designed to heat the plants’ cells causing them to burst. This destroys the weed’s stem, which causes them to no longer be able to ingest water or nutrients, essentially killing the weeds.

Small cylinders are not refillable.

You can buy one on Amazon for $25, avoiding Temu, but they are prob all made in China anyway.

You would have to work really hard to set your house on fire with one of these. In the rare instance something adjacent to the weed flames up, you just step on it and it's out. I've been using a torch for months with zero issues or worries. I would recommend wearing a smoke mask while using though. $15 on Amazon, with disposable cotton filters.

It works fine on live weeds. You just have to be patient. Keep applying the heat until the leaves wilt.

NOTE, the TEMU app is considered a security risk as it sends a lot of your personal info back to China, please do some research on this. I saw recently that that one of the senators(?) has asked for an investigation of this app. Please be careful.

Lots of utube video’s on refilling tanks one of many, all have same principles. Transfer of 16 Oz liquid if 1 pound tank course should have the ability to measure it. People off grid been doing this for decades. Sure not recommended do to some my lack skill or ability. If I was off grid in freezing weather had no means to go to town sure would do it. I won’t say if I don’t it in pass and don’t recommend. Not something just dreamed up lately.

One of many. Is it right or safe you be judge?

The manufacturer don’t want liability and motivation to sell more new tanks. If tanks are not safe when they filled them due to design flaw why would we buy one?

As far as buying Temu use go between like PayPal. No, I wouldn’t use any other pay method. I wouldn’t buy fragile stuff cause the have crud packaging system.

How much do you save by refilling? Since a new one is $5, I'm not going to take the risk.
