They have to get the water down in the retention ponds for the next big storm. Rather be in the ponds than in a person’s home.

Seems like
Seems like they pump all the water down to the Evan’s Prairie/ Sweetgum/ Magnolia/ Palmetto course areas

Shallow Creek should be on the list, played it yesterday. Cartpath only you squish, When you walk.
Of course they don’t tell you that until after you pay the money. I have waterproof shoes, guy playing in foursome water resistant. His socks were soaked. Not a pleasant round. |

The next 5 or 6 weeks is the highest risk window of the year for tropical storms. It’s better to be safe and prepared than to be sorry later. Anyone who was here for IRMA 7 years ago knows that one storm can quickly stress the storm water management system’s capacity. Emptying out water retention ponds in advance of potential storms is sound water management practice, especially in lower elevation areas that are most vulnerable.

Think it's "bad" here, have y'all seen the news of towns south of here?? Flooding streets plus water up to houses. When we have days where inches of rain falls, it can collect. IF you disagree with "we've had very little rain"....rains in FL don't touch down evenly. It can rain north of 44 a lot and hardly anything south of 44. I don't golf, but if I did I'd rather the courses were closed than having my yard and street flooded.

Some golf courses have new "water features", meaning there are now ponds in the middle of fairways. Of course, that's much better than flooding in areas containing homes. The Villages does an extraordinary job managing water so that homes are protected. Part of their plan includes flooding some golf courses to protect homes when there are large amounts of rainfall.

Played belle glade yesterday. Shocked to find out at check in that there were no restrictions. A few wet areas here and there but very well marked. Course in good shape.
