We get almost daily thunderstorms every summer. With the exception of the year a hurricane came right over The Villages there has not been the level of golf course closures for retention pond issues like this year. Why is this year so different? Has something in the retention pond system changed?

I believe that management has changed. I have lived on Pensacola, hole #1, for 12+ years and until this year the pond was always kept at @ 1/2 full until this year and just before the storm on 8/4/24 it was actually over the edge. At around this time someone on ND posted a picture from hole #4 or 5 on the same course and it was 1/2 full. I sent 2 emails to the person in charge, never got a response, but a couple of days later they started running the sprinklers.
