Are the courses closed tomorrow?

I have a tee time tomorrow around 8 am on an executive course.

According to the website, all courses are closed today but there is nothing about them being closed tomorrow.

I called the tee time office and the district office to get information and they are closed all day. No one answers the phone.

Does anyone know if the courses are open tomorrow? I don’t want to get up early and drive to the course only to find out it is closed.

GOLF: Effective Thursday, September 26, 2024, all Championship and Executive Golf Courses will be closed. Updates will be shared as courses begin re-opening procedures.

That answer will depend on the amount of rain we receive, most likely they will be as long as you don't need to drive on the course and can keep on the cart path.

All courses closed until at least noon. Then it's a course by course decision. Watch the Villages Golf Website.

You say most likely they will be.

Will be open?

Or will be closed?

Nobody on this site can guarantee you that the courses will be open or closed tomorrow.

What is Friday plan B, LOL? Maybe rest up and hit the square early evening?

MSchad 09-26-2024 02:30 PM

Golfthevillages.com states closed until noon or second wave Friday. Read the banner scrolling across the top.

Thank you!

I got an email from districtgov.org telling me that the courses were closed today. And it said check districtgov.org for additional information. I did not find any additional information where they told me to look but it is on golfthevillages.com.

Not getting up early tomorrow!

Once again, there is no guarantee that any course will open tomorrow given that nobody knows what's going to happen overnight. Maybe the link supplied will give you guidance as to whether they do actually open.

I agree. If we get a lot of rain overnight and it rains all day tomorrow, I don’t expect them to open tomorrow.

I have an early tee time tomorrow so my question was whether the courses were closed tomorrow - not when they will open.

We know that they are definitely closed until noon. Even if we have great weather overnight, I am pretty sure that they will not open until noon.

According to my crystal ball they will be closed tomorrow unless they are open.

In other words based on the weather forecast suspect they will be closed for several days.

The wording matters.

"Effective [date]" - means, STARTING on that date. It does /not/ mean "only" on that date.

"Updates will be shared" means, closed until further notice. When they decide to re-open again, they'll tell you.

I wouldn’t be worried about the rain we’re getting, but if you’re going to attempt to play expect there to be leaves, Spanish moss and palm fronds all over the course.

However, they told us to look at districtgov.org for updates and then they put the update on golfingthevillages.com.

Thankfully someone directed me to the correct website and I won’t have to get up early, drive to the course, and find that it is closed!!!
