Pet sitter

We are looking for someone to check on one dog and one cat three times a day. We live here full time in Newell and would like to find the same person for when we take short trips.

We would be willing to pay or return the favor when you go away. We do have a fenced yard. Please DM if you are available.

Be careful who you hire. My daughter just returned from a trip and had a pet sitter that was recommended by a neighbor. Turned out she was an alcoholic and was not even there when my daughter returned on the night of Helene. House was dark, dog was alone.

Good luck! Maybe one of your friends or neighbors would help you out, for the sake of the animals. Ultimately, caring for your pets is your responsibility, 24, 7, 365, for many years. Sorry if you find that inconvenient.

I recall seeing some ads for pet sitting, but I did not keep the info, we have a relative close by that can help us. Try doing an internet search, then when you get some results do your due diligence and ask for references, bond, insurance, etc. If I see the info again, I will forward.
Also, there is a business on Micro racetrack (heading north on the left side) that I believe provides housing for pets.
Finally, your vet may be able to provide some recommendations for pet sitters.

What kind of dog and cat do you have and the ages and activity level? That is important information to list I think. There is a website where you can list your house for a sitter. They can stay in your house for free while you are away. I used to do that when I wanted to visit a new area and maybe in a different state. The sitters are all checked out and rated with past reviews. Sometimes items like coffee and some food is offered while they are there too or you can set up the rules for what they can use. I watched two active labs and that was too much for me including giving them baths after going to the beach. Trustedhousesitters dot com was the site. I have a friend that travels all over the U.S. and watches pets without having to pay for a hotel.

I recently setup an account for the house sitter site. So far, no luck with getting a sitter. Certainly, worth a shot!

Cats are usually fine for a day or two without being checked on. Petsmart has daycare for dogs. They have 4 hours or 8 hour times at a reasonable price. My Lab goes there occasionally for 4 hours for $20.

We used trustedpetsitters.com while overseas for a month in August. Our two cats had a lovely Canadian family of four stay with them. I have an American girlfriend that pet sits dogs using this site. She was in the Villages for 10 days last January. Sorry I can't help with a daily sitter.

Well, that's an unnecessarily snooty response. He / she IS TAKING CARE of their animals by making sure they have care while they will be away. Sorry if you don't like my reply.

Go to Rover.com. They have locals that will go to your home and some will take your pets i to their home. Well organized company and their sitters are fully vetted.
