Pool cage in hurricane
Hello there - watching the weather report like many was wondering if there is anything that I could do to protect the pool-cage. I understand they can have the frame damaged in extreme wind gusts.
|
Short answer, no. If your bird cage is designed correctly, it should withstand winds of around 120 mph. Now if you made changes, like a canvas roof or replaced the original screen with other material I have no idea if you could have damage.
Also, I will mention the age of the screening can be a concern. During storm IDA, our 7 year screening failed on several panels. It turns out the incorrect type screening was installed in the roof area so we had all of these panels replaced. The frame was fine and have no damage. |
Our new cage build is said to be 135 mph rated. Now if the tree in the prairie drops down on the cage. That 135mph isn’t going to do much for a tree drop.
Try not to worry about things you have no control over. It will make this storm much easier to mentally handle |
