So Lt. Dan has refused to evacuate and is going to ride out the storm, in his 20' sailboat in Tampa Bay. His name is Joe Malinowski and has been all over the news. Interviews, photos ... a folk hero in waiting.

Turns out, Lt. Dan may not be what he claims to be, but rather an Internet personality, farming for TikToc hits..

(Apparently Dan has at least 4 names and did a year in jail, for beating up a LEO with a violin.)

What a weird world we live in.

They shouldn't have wasted more than 10 minutes trying to convince him to leave his boat. That'd be 5 minutes less than the 15 minutes of fame he was looking for.

He should be charged - financially - for the efforts of people trying to get him to safety when he was just doing this as a publicity stunt. And if he's injured - he should be made 100% responsible for medical costs - insurance should tell him to take a hike.

Why watch him when you can watch idiot reporters standing in the wind and rain, and flood surges.

Dan or Joe seems a little strange. His Facebook page claims he is a 'digital creator', so I think you are right.
