Yamaha U Max 2+2 Rally ?

Saw one of these at the Dog Park and was intrigued.

Guy had custom seats and other custom stuff

Any body have one of these and know where to get custom parts like seats and Gauges and such?

Or does any body know who sells them already set up with such stuff

I really want one of these!

Any body that can give me some tips in the right direction is much appreciated

I like the U-Max also, and they're not crazy more than golf cars, but be forewarned: I'm pretty sure they are not allowed on golf courses, and you may want to verify they are not too wide or too tall for MMPs and tunnels.

The ad I saw stated MAXIMUM speed 15 MPH, and these appear to have a higher center of gravity than a normal Yamaha golf cart. My point is that you will probably want to go at least 20 MPH, and I could see this overturning very easily. The tires shown do not appear to be acceptable for golf course use and the extended length will make perpendicular parking very hard to impossible without part of the cart sticking out in traffic.
IMHO, stay with a standard golf cart.

Exactly what I was thinking. They are nice rides, but probably overkill for general Villages use.

Get a Umax for the dog park and a regular cart for carting? Most people have several golf carts at their crib anyhow?

I am “that guy” with Umax Rally 2+2 and would like to clear up misinformation you have received.

The Umax IS ALLOWED on golf courses, however you need street/turf tires to replace stock knobby off road tires.

ALL golf courses south of 44 use UMAX vehicles for maintenance, RUNNING ALL OVER THE COURSES. I have seen at least 25 of them in use. They use the model with the dump bed in back. My unit (Rally 2+2) has the factory rear seat that replaces dump bed, otherwise they are exactly the same.

The UMAX IS NOT TOO WIDE OR TOO TALL for MMP and tunnels.

The UMAX IS NOT TOP HEAVY, in fact the center of gravity is very low and it barely leans when going around corners. It is an extremely solid ride that is made of beefy components compared to regular Yamaha carts.

The UMAX is extremely comfortable and is only 4” wider that a regular cart.

The speed of the unit EASILY keeps up with carts going 20 mph on the MMP. It has a 403cc engine instead of the 357cc regular Yamaha cart motor. It also stops better with brakes on all 4 wheels

Overall, we are extremely happy with the UMAX, which is 2.5 years old with over 7000 miles so far.

If you want something different or better than 99% of the carts you see, the UMAX RALLY 2+2 is worth your consideration.

Does that include the tunnel’s North of 466, in regards to the height?

ElDiabloJoe 10-28-2024 10:51 AM

Drdean, thank you for that firsthand information. I appreciate accurate correction of my initial concerns.

As to Bilyclub's tunnel height concerns, the Yamaha golf cars website states the overall height of the Umax Rally 2+2 is 77.2 inches high.

You can find that direct link here: Personal UMAX Rally 2+2™

The tunnel height guide published by districtgov dot org states the various heights of mostly older tunnels. You can find it here: https://www.districtgov.org/departme...%20HEIGHTS.pdf

That’s a long reply that never answered the question. The OP stated in his post that the Umax would be good thru the tunnels. Unless you drive down the center of some of those tunnels North of 466 you might be scrapping the top. You never know when you might golf up there.
