Rudest cities in America..

MSNBC has had some kind of blurb on cities and their manners.

They claim Seattleites are chilly...Bostonians don't give hugs........

I am waiting to hear what you think about the fact that they claim that Las Angeles is the Rudest city in the U.S. with New York in second place.

I just want to start something...............:024:

[Alan is KIDDING AROUND :evil6:]

I am  That NY is in second place. I do not think the result is caused by a lack of effort

It is possible I am being just a little petty, still stinging after a 14-3 season, with a not too distant memory of an 18-1 season, but I am working through it :beer3:

PS. Us folks 30 miles south of Boston in Norton, MA give hugs (unless of course you have on any NY Yankee gear).

PS2. I suspect I will regret posting this :jester:

Los Angeles is the rudest? I take exception to that Gracie... ;) We Californians are a loving and hugging group...http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...MuVk9DMMjWxrPG We even love our trees..... http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...0umVjuGCnmEnOS

( Mike and I have traveled back and forth across the US by auto, many times and one place that I still remember dealing with some exceptionally rude people was in Terre Haute, Indiana. Now, please all of you lovely people from Indiana don't jump all over me. Maybe I just encountered people having a bad day, but damnation. http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...C7wahWZwqqkEpi

Why we're the friendliest, at least in Florida, Tom. We even have a huge sign to prove it! Really, people here are are pretty nice.

I've spent a lot of time in San Francisco and I found people there to be generally unhelpful and rather rude.

If they had shorts on, they were visitors. And they were rude because they were freezing. Before I was stationed there I checked on the average temps and it said that the annual average high was 60*. It didn't say that 60 was also the maximum temp!!!!

I've gotta admit that San Franciscans aren't all that kind to tourists, but we do have our reasons (aka excuses) -- many don't speak English, so it's useless to try to help them unless you're fluent in about 20 languages; standing on a corner in the business district with a map out during lunch hour is not going to get you brownie points; taking the BART train or the trolleys or any form of public transportation with your shopping bags during commute times is inconsiderate (either leave earlier or hang around a bit and go later, but not between 7:00-9:00 am or 4:30-5:30 pm. So, it probably should be high the list (surprised it didn't rank higher than it did).

Totally agree that L.A. is a very rude town. Drivers are nuts; walking is done for exercise only; and I dare you to ask for directions -- you'll get something incomprehensible, a shrug of the shoulders or total ignorance. I've found NYers to be much friendlier and willing to help a tourist than either LA or SF. Since I'd probably be shot, I'll keep my mouth shut about Bostonians and their attitudes when in their city or, worse, when they are visiting another city such as SF (hint: don't compare your town to every other town -- each town has its own charms and beauty).

Being from the northeast i would have to say we are rude compared to the south,we live in VA. now and the majority are so friendly and truly mean it,never been to CA. so cant coment on them . Disclaimer i am sure not everyone is rude in the Northeast but overall we are.

Hmmm, since TVers come from all over, maybe those from ruder cities come here to get nice. :D
