Spanish Springs getting screwed
 

Let’s see. Brownwood and Sawgrass get the band Relic to perform at their Halloween celebrations. On the other hand, Spanish Springs gets Scooter the DJ? Ouch!

I would never travel to see Scooter, but I would travel NOT to see him.

Relic is in high demand in many different areas of the state and it could be a scheduling problem. Not that long ago very few people ever heard of them.

It looks like Brownwood has Rocky, not Relic (wondered how they would play in two places at once). It will be interesting to see how empty Spanish Springs is with "only" Scooter playing.

I think Relic will follow in the footsteps of the Hooligans and depart for better paying venues

Brownwood had their Halloween celebration last Saturday.

I happen to like Scooter in a pinch,, better than a lousy 3 piece over the hill that plays junk,,, and Scooter is a funny guy too tells a few jokes. Only those that live by Sawgrass will drive to Sawgrass for music, have fun down there ..:spoken: ,,,

So The Villages' one and only Hometown Halloween celebration was last Saturday at Brownwood (of course it would be, having it on the 31st would make no sense at all) and Relic played.

Tonight Relic is playing at Sawgrass. This is not a special Halloween celebration, just a normal Thursday night that just happens to be the actual Halloween but the Villages celebrated that last Saturday so....

It looks like Relic played in Spanish Springs on 10/4. Relic has not played in LSL at all in October. Tonight at LSL is Beauty and the Beats who is probably good (I think I'll be there) but is not (yet?) one of the more popular bands. Maybe it is LSL that is getting screwed.

Scooter seems to have a following from limited times I stumbled on. I am not one of them and will avoid his venues if going out for music. Just not a fan but to each their own.

It's really inconsiderate of The Villages not to cater 100% to one person's preferences......

Gilly and the Girl is an acoustic duo. He plays guitar, he and she both sing.

My mistake - Beauty and the Beats tonight.

I have heard Gilly and the Girl in a smaller setting. They were good there so I'll have to go listen when they play here.
