PGA Store
Not very busy.
Never see the store very busy considering the square footage. Is anyone buying???......purchasing, not just visiting. Not sure if it's going survive. :gc: |
Not sure if that location is a good one, considering that Earth Fare didn't last long. Perhaps wait till the snowbird season is in full swing to see what happens. I have heard them doing some radio ads lately.
|
With almost everything available online, I don't know how any store survives.
|
Haven’t been in it. I know their prices are higher than other establishments in the Villages.
|
They have higher prices than I generally pay. They have a great selection for most everything, however, I only buy used clubs, and/or old mark down models., So it's a frequent visit to see what used clubs they have. I then adjust the shaft length and put on a new grip sized for me. . . I rent their hitting bays up here sometimes, $25 per hour, with data printouts.

Golf equipment is one of the biggest scams around. I don't play golf anymore, but a few years ago, my neighbor invited me to play nine holes. He plays every day and has very expensive clubs, but I beat him by 2 strokes with my $50 set of clubs and I hadn't played in about 20 years.

There are advancements with clubs..................not annually (some golfers chase these changes), but definitely every ten years. I laugh at the Pro V-1 ball users................$50 to $60 a dozen, rather than a ball for half that price with the same performance. :gc: |

Their prices are no higher than other retail establishments. Great selection of lower price items up to high end items.
This myth of higher prices is ridiculous. |

Can purchase golf balls (Same Ball) much cheaper. Same with apparel. |

I bought a new driver there. Wanted a TaylorMade Stealth2, so I waited until their newest generation driver came out earlier this year (the Qi10), knowing they would eventually close out the Stealth2. I was in the store the end of September, and they had the driver I wanted, marked down to half price...and pulled the trigger on it.
Also, I don't buy that they are in a bad location. Sure, Earth Fare didn't make it (not a big surprise), but Total Wine is doing just fine. |
