Golf cart turn signal reminder
I was approached by another villager who wanted automatic turn off turn signals. Long story short, none of the local dealers would install these as he was not the original owner. I told him there were few options (search motorcycle turns signals) for this, as well as Signal Dynamics, all of which required lots of rewiring. I mentioned that with 2 diodes and a beeper, you can have and audio reminder that your turn signals are still on, cost around $15 for parts, and $20 for installation (if interested).
This involves tapping the front turn signal light, connecting a diode, and the connecting the diodes together to the beeper and then the beeper to ground. This is a very simple solution, and I have seen kits (for motor cycles) for around $15. If you are lucky enough to have a THREE wire blinker module the 3rd pin can be use to operate the beeper. |

This is exactly what I did to install my audible blinkers. And, if you are like me and hate the reverse buzzer, repurpose it for the "beeper". It's just a piezo buzzer and works perfectly for this conversion. I'm not an electrician so please tell me if I wired incorrectly but it's been working fine for 2 years now. |

Auto-reminder or auto turnoff would be helpful, but with so many drivers of all kinds of vehicles, leaving turn indicators on or not using them at all, I trust no one! Pulling infront of a vehicle because the turn signal is blinking is not an assumption I am willing to make. Sorry if those behind me aren't happy about wasting a few seconds while I err on the side of caution.

Mind has light that blinks in my face on side of windshield. Most majority new carts has light in mirrors that blinks. Then, there 80% that don’t use them.:faint: IMO bigger problem yielding before entering MMP small roundabout coming out or tunnel, If cart entering roundabout blinker on or off still have yield to your left. Maybe better idea would be automatic blinker lights turning on when turning and off when straighten back up? I also read somewhere we’re we are supposed to use hand signals when turning?
IMO the less splicing on harness the less chance for corrosion and problems. |
