Why?

Got the dreaded call today to get back in line. :pepper2:

Why Do clinic’s/ doctors schedule appointment couple days before holidays knowing the are going to take off and canx appointments that patients been waiting for, for months? Now have to reschedule wait another 5 months or so for another appointment. If they don’t want to work on days before holidays DONT SCHEDULE appointment. Is this what we get with AI? What happened to care for patients. I would think if doctor takes off he would at least try work patients in that was affected soon as possible? But, just old patients and they are dime dozen around here. My rant over now I can set and wait 5 months see it it get canx?:MOJE_whot:

Your right. If they cancel before holiday let them work an extra hour or two a day so as to not inconvenience their patients.

Besides delaying blood test could make a serious condition go untreated for months

When I've had an appointment cancelled soon before a major holiday, they've always rescheduled it for the week after, or the week after that.

Maybe find a better doctor's office.

I agree, anytime I have had an appointment cancelled I was offered another one around 1 to 3 weeks later, MONTHS later is totally unacceptable.

Ya know you can always choose not to book in November and December. I Never make any appointments after Thanksgiving, then again I only the once a year appointment just to make them happy.

I will say it seems every office in TV works a full day on Hanukkah, and never canceled. Up north offices were pretty much closed except for a few.

They may be cancelling to allow more immediate issues to be treated. If you had a symptom which may be connected to a more dangerous illness, you would probably be seen sooner. If it is just a wellness check or mild complaint, I think you’d be top name on the list ‘able to be cancelled’. Possibly you are not stating your symptoms/problems correctly. Maybe redefine your issues….
(or, you may have chosen an excellent Dr who is in high demand & has more emergency patients. Possibly less qualified/respected Drs are readily available).
