Nature trails closed?

I moved to the villages in the summer and I've been trying to explore all the walking trailers and parks here. This morning I drove my golf cart all the way from Spanish Springs to Sharon Rose Wiechens Preserve only to find it was closed due to flooding. Apparently it's been closed since August and there's no sign of when it'll open again, despite still being advertised on The Villages website.
I was going to drive to Homestead Nature Trail tomorrow, can anyone tell me if it's open before I go all that way?

The Hogeye nature trail near Edna's is open.

Sharon Rose Wiechens Preserve - The Villages Community Development Districts

The districtgov.org website has a list of all closures under the What's Happening section.

Unfortunately it doesn't mention anywhere on the closure list that the Preserve is closed, you have to specifically google the Preserve's name, as it was closed back in August. That's why I'm worried about the Homestead Nature Trail.

Awesome, thanks. I didn't know about this one, great to have a longer trail to walk!

I have never heard of that trail. Is it the little trail along a boardwalk behind Homestead Rec Center?

My wife and I just walked the trail around the lakes behind St. Catherine and it was all open.

Fortunately, the Preserve is mentioned on the closure list. It is the last closure on the list because it is the longest closure on the list.

You can start at Edna's and get something to drink or eat if you like.

Fenny Trail at the Fenny Rec Center has is very nice short boardwalk around a bubbling spring close by. Fenny grill has food and drink.

Enjoy!

The one thing TV is lacking. Nice real nature trail hiking paths. Hogeye, and the few other trails mentioned are nice. But hardly a ‘nature’ trail. For those, a drive out of TV is a must.

Homestead Nature Trail

There is definitely a Homestead Nature Trail. Walked it many times. It's not real long but it weaves around in a nice natural setting and there are a few benches. Call the rec center to make sure it's open.

I just tried entering “The Homestead Nature trail in my GPS, nothing pulled up. Could it be under another name?
Thanks,
Lanie

Lacking, in a retirement community? I would look for nature trails in a state park…….
