There's cold and then there's damn cold .

But no . I would rather not be in Philadelphia even though it's 39 F here at 2:24 AM . And I left my long Johns in Minneapolis.

I’m from Ohio. Florida doesn’t have damn cold. :)

Surprised to see frost on lawns this am

New Englander 12-03-2024 09:33 AM

This Bostonian thinks it's a bit chilly but not cold.

MrFlorida 12-03-2024 09:54 AM

For me, anything below 70 is cold.

I have to admit, both age and spending winters in Florida for several years has started to make me go soft. We don’t head south until after the holidays (wife won’t do the holidays without the kids) and every year I hate December up north more than the prior year. Cold weather is definitely for the young! I even passed on golfing this week. Having to bring a cordless drill to drill a pilot hole in the frozen ground so I can tee up my ball is a thing of the past. I’ll wait until after New Years.

Seems the cold fronts are coming down earlier and earlier.

This New Havenite never really liked extremes in either direction. She thinks it's cold. But not damned cold. I mean - I'm actually wearing socks IN the house. But we have the heat set to 65.

My dislike of extremes is the #1 reason why I can't stand Florida. Hot weather is oppressive. If I wanted to spend all my time indoors for more months out of the year than I spend outdoors, I would've just stayed up north.

That's the climate change that isn't happening. It's not happening a lot lately.

What does a Villager need to be out doing at 2:24 A.M.? I’m on the patio now and could not do that up north it’s 25 F. Tell everybody it’s too hot here and we have hurricanes so we can keep the prices in check, LOL

No frost south of 44😄it’s warmer down here.

I'm stuck here in Massachusetts and it looks like I'm going to get about 8" of snow overnight tonight. I wasn't going to be full time down there until 2026 but my job has forced me to move that date up. So I will be full time next fall and I can tell you that this will certainly feel like the longest winter I've ever been through.

opinionist 12-04-2024 07:20 AM

I don't miss the days when people made money shoveling snow off rooftops.

Kamaaina 12-04-2024 07:21 AM

Thank goodness for the global warming or it would be REALLY cold here!

I am in COMPLETE agreement with you and I am lifelong Minnesotan. I moved here in 2023. I'd have gone even further south to Cape Coral or Fort Myers if it wasn't for hurricanes or Key West if I was wealthier.
