Crazy Walmart

Purchased some Toddler clothes online from Walmart.
Did not work out.
Did a "Store Return".
Printed off a label & Walmart online said, "Return to any store."
I live close to the Neighborhood store on 466a.
Wasn't sure if that was included in "any store", so I did a live chat online.
The representative said yes, any store.
Cool.

Returned them and the counter person said, "we don't carry clothes, so we will throw these items in the trash"
WHAT???
She repeated it again.

Walmart, donate them or give them to an employee or tell me to go to a regular store.

Crazy.

Nope, Neighborhood Walmart is a grocery and different. Take your return to a Regular Walmart Store and problem solved. Sometimes there is no easy or close fix.

Read my post.................Walmart online Representative said YES. Y E S

Walmart said Walmart Neighborhood Grocery Store IS A WALMART STORE and can take the return.

So please read & understand the post before you reply "Nope".

Online (probably contracted) rep most likely was in another part of the world looking at a computer screen that said Walmart. Your experience does not surprise me as they see “Wallmart” not realizing there is a difference even though it has Wallmart in the name. Not your fault.

Sorry the Representative told you wrong but in today’s world that is not uncommon.

Agree............Crazy..............The policy is the crazy thing.

Let the customer keep the item and give them a full refund.
(had this done on Amazon)

Saves everyone time and money.

Just have systems to watch for abuses.

Oh yeah - that'd be great. Once or twice a year (so it wouldn't be flagged as "abuse") everyone would buy some really nice garment, or maybe a 12-pack of socks or something - and then return them, be told to keep them, and get their money back.

If that was the policy, there would be a LOT of abuse. In fact I worked for a store (Party City) where a shopper would hit all four Party Cities in the area when it was time to host an event. She'd buy a bunch of wearable stuff (costumes mostly in the color section) use it, then return it and say it was defective or didn't fit, and wanted her money back. She said that since it was used, obviously we couldn't re-sell it, so she wanted to keep the items.

Her total returns over the 4-store area came to over $300, and she tried to pull this at least once every 2 months. Different times of the day, different days of the week, in an attempt to fool managers and counter people who hadn't encountered her before.

We eventually kicked her out, wouldn't allow her to buy anything else, and had a photo of her under the counter and in the office. If she tried ANYTHING other than walking by we were to call the police and have her trespassed.

Just sharing a policy I have experienced and great customer service.

Amazon has the policy............so it's not that stupid of a discussion as you are trying to make it.

Amazon & Walmart have much more sophisticated systems than Party City's "photo under the county" (from probably 20, 30 or 40 years ago).

Most people are not abusive and if someone is (an extreme minority) they will be caught.

I returned an online Walmart item, which I returned to the NH Walmart a couple months ago. No issue no problem. But even tho I purchased with a CC they gave me cash. So be it.
And the item was landscape lights- not carried at NH Walmart store.
