Do you ever wonder how Talk of The Villages chooses "Today's Featured Users"? Just Curious.

It's simply engagement farming.

Whatever they believe will motivate people to "click" the site.

Nope. Never gave it any thought. Then again I never even open the emails.

It's exactly the opposite. "Today's Featured Users" are whichever posts are clicked on most, within the last [insert their formulaic hour window here].

The more you click on it, the higher it is on the list. The higher it is, the more likely it will be the "Today's Featured Users."

I don't get any e-mails from them. You can opt out of that when you sign up with them.

I am curious, I'm an early riser and am usually awake before the voice is posted to my email, yet when I open it up there are a number of participants already engage. Am I missing something?

Depends on what one calls early riser. My norm is up at 3:30a, occasionally earlier. Some posters on tOTV are in other parts of the US, occasionally from Europe.

My posts are less than 3 a day so definitely not me in feature users

What is this you are talking about ? "Featured used"?

Yes, I have wondered about that too -- whether everyone gets the same list or if it's customized by village, neighborhood, or individual.

Never knew it existed.

TOTV Specialist here -- the newsletter's "featured user" section is completely random.
