Roofing Inspection Solicitation
 

Today, we were solicited by a person who knocked on our door, wanting to do a roof inspection.
Said he was from Apex Roofing. He appeared to be going door to door on our street in Fernandina.
We have friends near-by who had the same thing happen to them a few days ago. He insisted they sign papers immediately, when they refused
he left in a "huff".
I gave him very specific instructions on what he could do with his inspection, and where he could go.
Quite sure this is the same type scam that roofers have been doing in T.V.
Is there anyone to contact regarding this? I think there is to be no soliciting in T.V.

You can ask to see his state solicitation permit, which is required by state law. If he doesn't have one, you can call law enforcement.

Excellent, I had APEX stop by the house twice, told them I was not interested, it appears that somehow they have found a way around the assignment of benefits suspension, so you were correct to not deal with them.

Tell them that they are trespassing! Never ever let someone up on your roof unless you called them!
