Dear Senior Living Advisor, I'm a caregiver for my wife who has Parkinson's Disease. I recently had a hospitalization and didn't know what to do with my wife during that time. Luckily my friends stepped in to help, but I realize this is not a long-term solution. What should I have done differently? ~Ed Dear Ed, -I'm glad your friends were there to help, but for the future, it's important to have a plan in place. You might want to explore respite care options, where trained professionals can care for your wife temporarily if you're unavailable. This could be through an in-home service or a short stay at an assisted living community. Having this setup can give you peace of mind and ensure your wife is always cared for. Putting a plan in place before the next crisis happens is the smart move. We would be happy to guide you through the next step. We've helped thousands of seniors and families in the community. We are here when you are ready to make your plan. Lisa, Josephine & Patricia |
