Costco Size

The Orlando Business Journal has reported The Villages Costco will be built on19 acres and will be 162,000 sf.

As a comparison:
Wesley Chapel Costco is 152,000 sf.

Clermont Costco is 152,000 sf.

Salt Lake City, Utah Costco is 235,000 sf and is the largest warehouse to date.

The average size Costco is 147,000 sf.

Same MO Could also be viewed in DS weeks ago. Are you just bringing in information, or concerns over acreage and SF of building plus fueling area?

We had 6 Costcos one was 187,000sf,and at that time touted the largest, although most of our newer Costco were 165,000. Truthfully between all 6 could never determine where the extra 20,000sf made a difference. Let’s face every Costco has a few different things, some more Special home furnishings and appliances, bigger TV and Computer areas, but all in all the rest of the stores pretty much compare, to the next one.

Size matters. The new Lowes at Trailwinds is significantly smaller than the Lowes near Spanish Springs, and I have noticed a difference in the availability of products. One example is that I once went to the Trailwinds Lowes because I needed a hacksaw, but they had none.

I don't have any concerns, really. Just a bit of trivia. I'm so excited about our Costco coming to our neck of the woods!

Agree. What about the new Home Depot that is a couple blocks from the new Lowes? Is that one also smaller than the HD on 441/27?

I'm going to need a trailer for my golf cart.

Both Home Depots are about the same size, approximately 105,000 SF.

Easier to shop at Sparr for trivial stuff..they even take you to correct isle, point out the good in the bad and which one they would recommend.

Don't confuse the warehouse with the actual store.

A Hacksaw is not trivial to Men.

If it’s under $100 it’s trivial…because real tools come with power. At least that was my dad’s story. Non power was passed down from his dad, so never had to buy a trivial tool:a040:

Heard the same.

Drove by the site today and the machinery have the lot chewed up pretty good. They're certainly not wasting any time. I heard a May opening.

Costco refers to their stores as warehouses.

RouseysMom 01-16-2025 06:45 AM

We need the extra sf for expanded pharmacy, hearing center, and eyeglasses.

DrMack 01-16-2025 07:00 AM

Don’t all have this

We were at the Costco in Claremont a week ago. They had all of this too along with a liquor store, travel agency, automotive center and gas pumps. I’m thinking most are about the same.
