While not all residents of the Villages, the 111,815 registered voters are a pretty representative sample.

Not really, since Sumter County has a lot of children under the age of 18. They wouldn't be counted in the demographic of people who are registered to vote. There are also a lot of people who are of age to vote, but haven't registered. Most of Marion County is NOT Villagers at all, and most of Lake County is also NOT Villagers at all.
Approximately 20% of Lake County residents are under the age of 18.
Approximately 40% of Sumter County residents are under the age of 60.
The vast majority (around 70%) of residents in Marion County are neither Villagers, nor over the age of 65.
There are also lots of Villages residents who are from other countries, and not American citizens, and therefore don't get to vote at all in the US. They wouldn't be counted in the demographic of registered voters in The Villages.
