Has anyone been to one of these "travel seminars" in TV?

I see one in the paper today titled "Exploration Travel Presentation". It states "for your time & opinion, all attending couples will receive your choice of:

"complimentary airfare and 2 or 3 night hotel stay"

or

"complimentary 3, 5 , or 7 night cruise for two aboard your choice of major cruise lines"

I'm assuming that it's a timeshare or "vacation club" thing.

Has anyone been to it that can give us the scoop?

Scam, stay away. Here's a view of your "Cruise Ship" coming in.

Very funny! I get it but has anyone actually went to a seminar was the OP’s question. If it’s too good to be true - it is…

There are a bunch of threads on here about the "Cruise Seminars".

I've never been to one, but the reports have not been good.

Yes we attended a few months ago. As stated earlier, stay away! It is a scam.. a complete waste of time!

Rwirish 01-24-2025 06:00 AM

No, no one has ever been to one.

We went to 1. Its was almost 2 hours we will never get back. You join a club for 5 digits ($$$$$) then you get a break on cruises for a year. We belong to a bunch of cruise discount sites and are a high level on a cruise line so not sure if the discount you get after joining this group especially costing this much money

We have friends who went to the "free" cruise seminar here in TV. Both couples ended up paying $2k for the program (they got it down from $12k), plus an agency fee of $599 and with a yearly membership fee of $400 to get half off cruises and other vacation trips. If they didn't take the "free" cruise, the $599 agency fee was dropped. One did, the other opted for the "free" cruise which she got a certificate for. She was to send it in to get the voucher for the "free" cruise. Guess what?? She never got the voucher. Neither was able to contact the company afterward and there were no half off discounts. They're both just out the monies paid and now have to fight to keep this company from charging their credit cards for the annual membership fee, after signing numerous documents agreeing to the terms/conditions of the program. Run......fast.....and don't look back!!!

This is a total scam. They brag that they were former time share operators that are bringing that business model to travel. They want high recurring fees to access travel deals available at legitimate travel companies at no cost.

Do they get served lunch or dinner during these things? If so, you could consider it a couple hours worth of entertainment watching dupes sign up for it, and get a free meal in the process.

a not-too-well-off next door widower neighbor of ours in TV would go to several seminars a week
to get the lunch - that was one of his main forms of sustenance.
most if the presenters knew he was there for the lunch , breakfast, or dinner.
He learned when to come and go to waste minimal time.
the presenters appreciated extra people in the room to make it look more attended.
these gab-gifted scammers are much better at the game of con than most of are at our games if attendees.
