Accor push pull valves
3 Attachment(s)
Ok, there was six now only 4 left. Finely got around to replacing what looks like deteriorating hoses on my 20 plus year old pop off valves. Replaced faucet while I was doing it due same age and 3/8” pipe connection which was corroding.
Only ran into one headache the cold water pop off valve would not unscrew off. Finely had to cut if off which was difficult due to limited space and my old age. But finely got it. I used “quick fitting brand” hose assemblies. Was really quick and easy once I got that far. You can see them in picture under sink. Price of two pack was 18.98 for 12” and 26.98 for 16 inch hose length. This first time I ran into Accor pop off I couldn’t get off ended cutting it off. Which was pain. |

Ok, had time to analyze the old plastic wrapped Accor hoses. Actually the inter and outer wasn’t bad at all. Very strong with wire mesh wrap over the plastic (or what ever the material was?). I have yet to figure out what the yellowish sticky goo was on hoses? IMO with weakest link is the push/pull valve.
As far as the valve body where it slides onto 1/2 pipe it has two serrated locks holding the assembly to 1/2 pipe. IMO it would probably have to be installed wrong for valve assembly to pop off 3/8” line. The serrated teeth dig in and you just can’t pull them off. You have twist counter clockwise while applying pulling pressure. |
