Dead Fish Near Lake Miona Rec Center
 

A short time ago I walked the back side of the retention(?) pond on the opposite corner of Lake Miona Rec Center. I counted at least four dozen dead fish floating at the edge of the pond. Not being a fisherman, I don't know what type of fish they are. Any ideas what may be knocking these fish off?

Hard to say what killed them this time of year. In the summer, it’s more likely due to oxygen depravation. Early winter Shad are prone to shock due to a cold snap.

Call The Villages District Property Management and they will send out the contractor to clean it up.

Sometimes the birds get to them first.
