Should pools be used as public restrooms

I frequent the pools and most of the times if the restrooms are used it's by the general public, not residents.

The restrooms (especially the mens) is used by landscapers and delivery people and not those of us using the pool.

There is a very visible line on the cement going towards the men's restrooms and visible dirt on the entry gate knob.

What is your opinion on neighborhood pools being used as public toilets?

They have to go too. And they have been doing this since we moved here in the Summer of 2005.

There seem to be a lot more male landscapers, roofers, etc. than females.

Sure. But should they be allowed to use facilities that are paid for by us.

If I have to "go" can I come over to use your bathroom?

Yes, you can come over. If you come too much, I might send you to one of the more public restrooms by the pools. :) The cost of the facility isn't changed very much because it's being used. We rely on the contractors to do a good job, I, for one, want them to be comfortable to be able to do that. I might change my tune if I'm swimming and end up in a contractor line when I have to go, but I don't see that happening.

Better solution add or buy a house with a pool. Then no worries on how many contractors use the facilities or the residents who just don’t bother getting out of the pool to use the facilities

I don't see any reason why the rest room facilities can't have "Villages ID Card" locks on them, so only Residents with cards can use them. Then the District can set up Porto-Potties in the parking lots, for the unwashed masses that keep The Villages running ... no pun intended.

I'm not sure why no one has thought of this solution?

My word! There are some precious people around.
When you gotta'go, you gotta'go.

But the OPs point is not whether you have to but where

Maybe the OP and friends should use the restroom rather than using the pool - it really doesn't take that much time to get out and it is far more sanitary.

I certainly would be AGAINST a line of portable toilets in the parking lot of my mail center. Installing card readers for entry to the pool areas would be expensive. Without even considering the cost of the hardware and the power and data infrastructure to implement the solution, the fences are only a few tall. Any desperate landscaping employees would vault the fence bypassing the access control system. Is the problem really that big?

Lol! :) That's very kind of you, thanks.

The district equals the residents. I for one don’t want to end up paying for the Porto-Potties and I don’t want to see them on every corner. If it ain’t broke…..

:clap2: LOL! Hey, c'mon this is supposed to be a serious thread!

I guess the current situation is better than having contractors taking a leak in the bushes or behind buildings. Also better than seeing pee jars being tossed along the paths and roads in TV.
