One of the first things a new Florida resident must understand is that the battles with insects are big ones here in the South. You really need to hire a professional.

If they are truly the tiny, fast ghost ants then we've had very good luck with Terro (I don't know what Tempo is).

If they are another sort of ant (white footed ant was one that we had) then the Terro seems to attract them more than kill them.

Massey has taken care of our ant problems when we've called.

Our former landlord used Massey.
Massey came practically straight away when we spotted the ants, and they were gone within a day or two after treatment.

I agree with Terro. A few drops on a few pieces of paper and they will be gone in a few days.

Ghost ants are ridiculously easy to get rid of ... I'll give you an 12 hour solution and they'll be gone for months.

Watch where the ants congregate. They'll usually follow a specific trail.

Buy some of this: Amazon.com

Put a couple of drops along the trail and just watch. They'll attack it, like my dog would attack Prime Rib. They'll eat some, bring it back to their next and they're done for!

I found the Terro 'Bait Stations' didn't work, but the liquid on paper did. It might take a week or two to completely get rid of them. Keep adding liquid to the paper as needed.

Anything sweet! Hide the cookies! We had them once- nest outside. Masse came in and placed some gel on the counter under each outlet (so we could find it to wipe away later). They head to the gel, take it back to the nest and gone in a few days. This was 3 years ago and they’ve never returned

Sound advice…

You can buy "Terro" ant killer. Just follow their trail and put a drop of Terro nearby. Terro is only effective for about 2 days, as it dries hard and cannot be eaten by the ants, so repeat every 2 days. It takes about 2 months to get rid of them.

Thank you! The last few days I have seen some teeny ants in my house. Will buy that today.

I have Florida Pest Control. They got rid of my ghost ants and my infestation of (ugh) palmetto bugs.
