Golf question?

I saw this on X.

If someone offered you $2.6 million dollars if you stayed on the green on 17 at TPC but you owed them $50,000, if you missed, would you take it?

One shot.

Have you seen me play, no way

I've played that hole 3x, twice on the green and once in the bunker. I'd take that bet in a heartbeat. (on a calm day)

Can we be partners if you win? If you do not make it I would be out.

Yardage to the center of the green?

Looks to be between 128 to 137 depending on the tee box.

Check out the yardage book.

I would totally take that bet if it’s sequential. ie. If I miss shot 1 owe $50k. I continue to shoot. Each miss another $50k lost. But, but when I get one on the green I get the $2.6M and owe the $$& balance of my previous losses. I’m a crap golfer but I would take the shots at that yardage 135 yards, probably a 7 iron, and hope to land softly. Heck, I’d do it for $500K. Get 1 of 10 shots. But at the 9th shot I’d change my shorts to Depends.

Yes,
I played it 6 times and missed once. always played from the pro tee.
I like the odds.

Rwirish 03-19-2025 05:06 AM

Yes, piece of cake.

coleprice 03-19-2025 06:17 AM

Absolutely. I'd practice (and practice and practice) the shot, so that the odds are VERY HEAVILY in my favor. Life's a gamble and you can control your destiny on this opportunity . . . Just don't choke!

Absolutely. But I have a Moon Wood. You may not have heard of that club, but it goes high, and I mean high, and lands straight down, yes I’d take that bet.

Yes. I was paired with three guys the time I played it. Three of us parred the hole and one birdied.

Depends. Is the $2.6 million tax free?
