Noisy new washer
Another project completed. My new washer when spinning makes loud noises due to the thin back cover sheet metal vibrating. I added stiffener board across the center and made Hugh difference in noise level.
Ok. I know it’s cheap model, all I want it to do wash cloths with minimal fancy settings. It does have big tub and removable agitator. |

I have this exact same washer, just over a year old. I bought it to replace another one (same) that I had for about 5 years. This new one was great until recently when it became very noisy (squeaky) when the drum spins. I have coverage on it, so after round one where the guy replaced some parts that seemed to make it quieter, he is coming back to replace the gear box because it got noisy again. You are saying you have put a "bandaid" on it to quell the noise?

You can accomplish this same result by applying automotive sound deadener. It is a sheet of buytl rubber with adhesive on it.
It's useful for dishwashers, sinks and, of course. cars. |
