They are also cutting funding to thousands of YMCA’s across the country that are struggling to remain open. I’m very concerned about the viability of the YMCA I swim laps at when we are up north.

Why are we subsidizing your gym? If they cannot provide you the service they are providing at a fair price (fair = cost of operations plus on-going maintenance plus profit enough to make the effort worthwhile), then it should not be provided. One can walk the neighborhood, run the local high school track, or follow a YouTube yoga program for free in order to pursue fitness, which is a laudable pursuit. Doesn't mean it should be subsidized.

A great position to take until the focus shifts to a program you utilize or care about.

The government's priorities for funding should be: Sovereignty (military/defense), public safety (police, fire), and infrastructure (roads, dams, flood control, etc.).

After those are sufficiently addressed (which they are far from being), then we can get into funding for other relevant societal benefits, such as education and health. Drag shows are not on the list, neither are transgender surgeries. You want one, pay for it. Don't expect taxes to pay for you.

I believe it will be the voter's elected representatives that make that decision.

When we were a member it was $55 a month
Swim lesson were $50 a week for a commitment of 6 weeks
So why do they need government funding

You do realize that this thread was posted under "Just for Fun", i.e., jokes/sarcasm ?

Regardless, I'm with El Diablo. Govt shouldn't be funding gyms.

It's just a funny video, folks. You're gonna get the thread removed.

I would barely be able to do that with my teeth.
