I would like to tell this guy that my parents were never like that nor my grandparents nor my great grandparents.

I suspect your family may be unique. I recognize several of those behaviors in various family members.

I actually do some of that stuff . But not my parents all that much.

I also have a hard time seeing those behaviors in myself. That's why I need a spouse to point out how odd I and my family are. Ask your spouse and they will point out your odd behaviors.

Agree we are none of these either.

For others who are embarrassed they are, Just because a commercial portrays the behavior as a negative doesn’t mean it is. Just be yourselves.
