Table Shuffleboard

Hey folks. There was a meeting last week about table shuffleboard. I just want to see if we can fire up some interest in the game. There are a limited number of rec centers with table shuffleboard tables. And there does not appear to be any leagues or regular games that can be visited knowing there will be activity.

I'm just wondering if we can stir up enough interest to get some folks together on a regular basis. I'd love to get the game active enough to possibly get The Villages to install more tables. There are none in the central Villages that I'm aware of. It would be great to get one (more?) installed at some other rec centers. Lake Miona comes to mind. Again, there are none in the central area.

Anyway, this thread is an attempt to light up some interest in table shuffleboard and maybe find a way for interested folks to meet up.

Let's slide that puck!! :)

Come on folks...make some replies just to help me out, even if you don't want to play table shuffleboard!!! LOL!! :)

My wife and I are seasonal residents, DON'T call us snowbirds. We love table shuffleboard and agree with your assessment, there are no central rec centers that have them. We would certainly join an organized group and would come regularly when we are there.

What, where, who hosted ,discussion at the meeting you attended?

It's up to you to create the interest you want. Try having a tournament and seeing who shows up, these will be the most interested. Have the tourney and then schedule another asking those in the room to discuss it with friends etc. When you start to have more people than it makes sense for a tournament, you have enough people to begin discussing a league.

Sounds like fun, but if you want it, you need to make it happen

Okay, gang. I plan to be at Tierra Del Sol Recreation Center on Monday, June 30th, at about 2:00 to slide that puck back and forth. It would be more fun if there was at least one more player. Teams would be even better. :icon_wink:

Post here if you think you think you might show up. Maybe we could get something started!! :)

Definitely interested, but can't make it Mondays til around 2:30 - 2:45...should I come anyway and be 'fashionably late"?

Would be interested to join an occasional group event to "slide the puck". Have never really played but have tried it could at Eisenhower a time or two. Would be good to perhaps grow interest to do just as you have done and offer pull a group together at a date/place and hopefully get a few to show. Then, perhaps the following time, move to a different venue.

Have company next week or I would join at Tierra Del Sol. I believe there are tables at First Responder, Eisenhower and Fenny that I am aware of and perhaps a couple of others.

My wife and I will plan to be there. If we remember. Played First Responder and the tables were very bad. You had to throw to the side to get the puck to end up in the middle.

We have seen groups playing at Eisenhower on a regular basis. Ask at the desk?

Well, I was there until about 2:20 today, and I was the only one. Argh.

Sorry if i missed you, Dottiep, but I got a call and had to leave. :)
