SUV Caught Riding on Multi-Modal Path

I spotted a woman driving her SUV on the multi-modal path at The Village of Richmond today. She turned in and bike riders yelled at her to go back.

Not the first, and definitely wont be the last.

In the last 3 weeks 3 cars have driven through the tunnel under Meggison near Richmond guard gate. Sadly two were Residents that didn’t understand how they came from the new Richmond homes. Thankfully they turned at the tunnel and didn’t end up on the Brownwood Bridge.

Third one came from free standing UF on 44 turned on cart path instead of Meggison

I did a recent drive through of a community similar to ours along the Palm Coast and noticed they had signs at the entrance to their golf cart paths stating “golf carts only”. It would be a big ask for all the paths we have and no guarantee vehicles would see it as the signs sat low to the ground.

Well, you can't blame on the snowbirds, bc they've long since left.

I thought on many of the MMP's they were putting a post in the middle of the entrance to help prevent car traffic and 2 posts where they are walking and bikes only.

Yes at every mmp entrance/exit there is One post. Walking paths 2 post. Yet every car that turns into the path just run over, or around. The cars that come from Brownwood run over the post. Only way to keep out the confused, is a concrete post. But highly doubtful developers will replace the disposable posts

Agree the paths especially in the new areas need appropriate signage.

It is comical to observe individuals from Middleton and in the Wellpoint Lifestyle area struggling to navigate the trails.

Even worse when they inadvertently end up on Marsh Bend Trail in 3 row golf cars filled with children.

How is an unfamiliar individual in an automobile or golf car expected to discern the distinction between a single and double post? This situation becomes even more challenging when a post is absent.

Seen it many times. Blame brain fog or need of Med adjustments.

"This Villages thing is great, they put obstacle courses in the middle of the very narrow roads."

I don't recall the last time I drove over a post or thought it was a good idea to squeeze around one in a space too narrow for a car.

Now the single/double when you're in a cart is not always obvious and yeah, if the post is absent....

During our lifestyle visit, the Villlages Rep told us poles mean no cars allowed.

That is how it can be done. The person who authorizes a non-resident needs to inform the non-resident.
