New Electric Meters and Visit from Unknown Contractors trying to Install Solar Panel
 

Received visit today from two fast talkers regarding how meters were installed to increase rates and their Solar Panel option to install panel to reduce electric cost.

Sounded like a trap to me and I asked them to leave. Didn't get any details .

Has anyone else, heard of this issue in The Villages? I live in Caroline.

Sketchy solar contractors? Yes. There was at least one thread on here within the last year.

Had a couple of guys here several weeks ago, do a search on this site, the general feeling is solar panels do NOT pay off in a reasonable period, which is due to NET metering and or the financing.
UNDER NO circumstances sign any contract that places a lien on your house, you will be very sorry.

These individual Start out by saying that did you get a new Electric Meter, and that the reason for the new meter is related to their planned intent to raise their rates. They indicated that many customers were noticing increased rates starting last month. (well isn't that what we expect when summer approaches). They then said that you can negate that and the entire bill the first month. Thats when I said (Not Interested)
