Any comments from users of Vanguard Personal Advisor, PA Select or Wealth management?

While continuing to seek what best works for me I feel I should inquire of Vanguard what they offer as their fees are modest compared to other outfits. One thing really important to me is building a one on one relationship with a financial advisor. Another is being able to choose a particular advisor among a list after reviewing their credentials and interviewing them. Before I call Vanguard and inquire I would greatly appreciate receiving some comments, advice, admonitions and suggestions from those who use Vanguard advisors, have used them or chosen not to use them, and if so, why?

Thank you in advance for your sincere responses.

I am a new Vanguard customer, and for now I will stick with a 3 or 4 index fund portfolio (Boglehead style). I will be interested in seeing what others might say about Advisory Services.

I have been very pleased with Vanguard advisor services, always work with the same advisor, investment returns have met my goals & Vanguard is really sharp on minimizing taxes, I highly recommend them,

I have been a Vanguard client for more than 30 years, and I have invested in nothing but index funds. I never saw any need to use their advisor services or to buy any actively managed funds.

I have an IRA with Vanguard that is in a few ETFs, most of which is the S&P 500(VOO) with some VTI and a few others.

I also have a post tax brokerage account. This is a much smaller amount that I've just added in over the years. I play around with various funds and some stocks and such.

The returns on the IRA are better than the other account as a percentage. I have made some real leaps in the brokerage account, like buying Nvidia before the recent split but they don't account for some of the dogs that have wallowed about for years, with meager gains.

To that end, within the last 2 years, I've just been adding to VOO and look at that...the returns have improved.

I don't know how much better than my current I could do and still have some security that it's not going to evaporate in a downturn.

Michael Saylor, a Billionaire describes the market this way. "You have a 500 stocks, 8 winners, 492 losers and with an active manager, when the winners outstrip the losers and the percentages get out of a certain ratio? They will sell some of the 8 winners and buy more of the 492 losers. It's Idiotic"

In June 1921, I consolidated multiple sources of IRA and old 401(k) retirement monies. I went with Vanguard and their advisor service. I have one advisor who I meet with quarterly over the phone. I am basically a 55/45 stocks bonds which keeps me fairly steady from big dips, but unfortunately also from big increases. The third of one percent fee they charge is relatively small but I still scratch my head at times wondering why I give $1000 or so every quarter to them. I guess I should be happy that the quarterly amount is increasing. .

Thank you for this. I started 60/40 stocks to short term T bills during 2022 and 2023 with the proceeds from a couple RE sales. Although I have owned some stocks most of my adult life they never amounted to much within the whole scope of things. Hence, I spent very little time on them...probably a good thing. Anyway, I am now getting up there in years and am more interested in keeping what I have than plunging into the deep end to make much more. Securities constitute about 1/3, RE 2/3 of my assets. My objective is to retain a cash cushion which can see me through if necessary. Whether I go with Vanguard or another outfit I want someone who "gets me" running the show.
