Legally blind
My wife was recently declared legally blind. I already have handicap tag for car and golf cart which she has because of a severe case of neuropathy. Is there any other paper work she should be carrying for whatever reason I can’t think of. Thanks for any tips.

My Dad's eye doctor contacted the Florida Department of Motor Vehicles without telling us and had his driver's license revoked. I or my Mom did the driving after that until prudence told us that her Alzheimer's had taken away any good judgement she had to drive any kind of vehicle. I or a Right at Home worker needs to drive her places now . We have had some great Right at Home workers. A few bad ones here and there but they have a large enough group of home care workers that if one does not fit our needs we can often get a replacement within a few hours. Not always though.
We did change eye doctors. My Dad was blind in one eye his eyesight was getting worse. I still think the eye doctor should have mentioned she was going to contact the State of Florida and have his driver's license pulled. |
Don't forget to check the "is blind" box in the standard deduction section of your Federal tax return to get a tax reduction.

100% thank you DOCTOR for protocol of contacting DMV, if declared legally blind. The oddity is the handicap person who cannot walk and needs to park closer to the store then can walk playing golf makes me giggle its so privileged. keeping it classy!
