Nathan's Famous Hot Dogs & Restaurants

The Nathan's Famous Hot Dogs I buy at various Villages grocery stores are nothing special but I can see why these are in hot dog eating contests as they are very thin.

Some of the items on their restaurant site look quite good.

On a rainy day I watched a utube taste test on hot dogs. Nathan's came in either on top or close to it. They explained that natural casing hot dogs are always thinner because of the size of the casing. Larger hot dogs use a cellulose casing that the manufacturer removes once formed.

Nathan's are good. I like Hebrew National better. They grill amazing.

Also like Sabrett if I can find them.

Sabrett are very good . Sabrett hot dogs were served at the Villages Polo Fields quite a while back. I recall how good they were.

Make sure they are all beef, amazing what some dogs contain.

we find Kosher ones the best.

They need to be the Coney island version of the hot dog. I have only found them at a Publix

Costco's are intensely flavored.

If you watch a TRUE video in how how dogs are actually made, there's a 70% chance they would be off your diet.

I love hot dogs (used to...) but they have too much sodium and stuff...and the videos... But despite all that I would LOVE one...

Of course we probably would not want to eat a lot of animal products like beef, pork, chicken, etc etc. after watching how they are "processed"...

just sayin'. But I still love ribs, prime rib, pork chops, chicken, ...... but in moderation.

The last time I had one was when Nathan's had small restaurants inside the now "defunked" Caldor Department Stores. I forget if they were thick or thin. I'm guessing that was in the 1990's.

Very thin from what I got.

Twenty years ago there was a Nathan’s inside the Walmart in Buffalo Ridge. They then tried several different food options in that space, and they all failed. Shame because a good hot dog has proved an excellent draw for Home Depot and Costco.

Have you ever seen a video on how deli meats like turkey are made? It’s a ground up wad of turkey with stuff in it to hold it together. I haven’t touched deli meat since the video. Ham yes, Turkey no.

I always had the large hotdog w/sauerkraut and mustard from Paul's stand at the Brownwood Farmer's Market every Saturday.

++++ re some much lunchmeat, esp like bologna etc. We love turkey sandwiches for home lunch. ONLY get Winn Dixie Kettle turkey breast. Whole t breast, without being brined or such. Quick fried in sunflower oil. Sliced to order and so yummy.
