R. I. P. Chuck Mangione

When I lived in Rochester during the early 1970's I saw him play in person several times. He was a great musician!

Bellavia - one of my all time favorite songs. A great musician.

Great Musician

He will be missed. Groups like The Tigermen, Goo Goo Dolls and Mangione are staples of Western NY.

Will be missed. Very much enjoyed his music.

He made an impression on my musical escapades in my youth (drum & bugle corps days).

When I was in my late 20’s, I shared an elevator with him going to the club at the top of the World Trade Center. He played at the function I was at. He was really friendly and laid back. Impressive…

Who did you march with? I was never on the field but was affiliated with The Vanguard for a few years. Love some good DCI!

I'm surprised I did not hear more about his passing on the news. I learned of it from Blue Stone Circle at the square. Overshadowed by Hulk Hogan?

He played at my senior ball in high school at Midtown Plaza in Rochester. I have always loved his music.

Sounds good! I marched with the Chancellors in Ocean County NJ back in the 70’s.

I loved his music and listen to it frequently still today. Not just "feels so good" but the whole children of Sanchez album is powerful.

I went to the University of Rochester in the 1970s. He was gone from the University by then, and I wasn't a music major, but his influence was strongly felt in the University and the city, particularly in the Eastman Jazz Ensemble.

Land of Make Believe, with Ester Sadderfield, was one of his best ever.
