Road trip to Pigeon Forge
 
Any recommendations for a safer route to Pigeon Forge other than RT. 75?
Also, We would like to stop after about 6 hours of driving so would like to find an interesting place where we can spend the night. Thanks

We go up via Charleston, SC which is almost exactly half way.
